What to Expect From Me at Your First Appointment
Please have as much information as you can supply regarding the animal’s prior and current history, nature of any problems, and current lifestyle (diet, exercise, housing, travel, exposure to other animals, etc.). It is very helpful to observe the animal in their usual environment prior to an exam.
For individual animals, I will perform a physical exam, and possibly some diagnostic tests. For a herd health consultation, I might examine a few animals that are representative of the herd, and/or that have been exhibiting health issues.
For routine appointments, I will make recommendations for a preventive health and wellness program. This may include vaccinations, deworming, hoof/nail trimming, medications, and/or other preventive health procedures. Changes to diet, exercise, housing, socializing, etc. may also be recommended.
